Now this being the release week for Kong, there are quite a few films that will be overlooked by the general, vanilla-loving populace. Being fairly unimpressed with Kong myself, and understanding Dreamlogic readers have little tolerance for vanilla, I figured I’d bring your attention to the first batch of Masters of Horror releases.
I heard about [...]
Here in the Bay Area we were recently “treated” to some unconventional hail and frost and ice and with it, slippery car accidents and many many cellphone photos. But what if I told you that just last week the same thing happened in an even more unconventional area: Hawai’i! Yes, it happened on [...]
The new South African anti-rape condom has to be seen to be believed. The inventor deserves a nobel prize. Fricking coolest invention of the decade. Check out MSN’s article here.
Just found this on Google Video. Sure, it may be just another tinfoil hat documentary (some of the issues it brings up have been debunked. Or have they?), but it’s still quite interesting and helps promote a healthy skepticism in regards to government policies. Either way it’s far more interesting than the trash propaganda piece that is United 93.

Looks like Jet Li is in the middle of a lawsuit due to his role in his latest, and rumored to be final, action picture, Fearless. Note that I tried to pick up the film this past weekend, but ended up with the sub-par Dragon Squad instead, as for the time being none of the copies of Fearless available for purchase feature English [...]
This looks very very cool. We’re running into some strange problems with embedding the trailer on the page, so go here and check it out.
Oceans Thirteen is set to start filming July 21st. Yup, it’s not just another fake IMDB entry. This time the film will star Ellen Barkin and George Clooney. Now, I’m as much a fan of The Clooney as the next guy, but do we need another Oceans? Does anyone remember the second one, or the [...]
The US trailer for The Promise (aka:Wu Ji), Chen Kaige’s latest picture has finally hit the web, complete with a quote from LA Times critic Kevin Thomas, praising the film as one of the most beautiful things to hit the screen. Well, the film is pretty, but not much more than that. Chen Kaige, [...]
From IMDB:
Samuel L. Jackson’s new mile-high thriller Snakes On A Plane has created such a buzz among internet film fans, movie bosses have called for re-shoots - to give the film a tougher rating. The film, which stars Jackson as an FBI agent trying to keep a federal witness alive onboard a plane full of [...]
On Monday, Kris Kobayashi decided to leave dreamlogic.net for good. While she will be missed, she will be replaced by Kris Kobayashi-Nelson, a wonderful addition to the established caliber that is dreamlogic. We expect good things from her and she hopes to live up to the high standards and expectations of our readers.
In other words, [...]
So another Mission Impossible 3 trailer is up. To be honest the film looks pretty bad. The dialogue is wince-inducingly terrible, and with J.J. Abrams at the helm I’m afraid it will be about as interesting as watching paint dry. And then there’s the pseudo-physics. I used to complain about people flying too much, but [...]
Sweet. This weekend Bunny and Clydo will screen at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Fest. Director Rocky Jo will be in attendance. Kris and I worked as Production Assistants on the film, so we’ll be there supporting the film.
More info here. And also check out the film’s official site here.
I believe our friends at Giant Robot/Filmmatters posted this in a comment, so I’m reposting it here.

The trailer for Mathew Barney’s latest effort is up. Kris and I were lucky enough to catch Barney’s entire Cremaster Cycle when it screened in San Francisco a few years back. Though it didn’t make sense in all the places, it was very interesting, and showed Barney has undeniable talent. Drawing Restraint 9 seems to [...]

The Japanese have come up with a robot nurse. Well, not quite a full-fledged nurse, but it can pick up patients from hospital beds. And it’s very polite!! Click here to watch video of the robot in action.
China is on the fence again.. this time with Iran and N. Korea and a whooole shitload of oil. If China sides with Iran this time, they may just lose their chance at remaining buddies with N. Korea in the future, but their natural resource dependency is, well to say the least, all consuming. [...]
Universal is planning a remake of The Wolf Man starring Benicio Del Toro, with a script by Andrew Kevin Walker, of 8mm, Seven, and Sleepy Hollow fame. Benicio’s normal look lends one to believe he wakes up every morning face down on his front lawn, having collapsed after a night’s worth of binge drinking, so [...]
