The trailer for 28 Weeks Later is now on-line, meaning you no longer have to purchase a ticket for The Hills Have Eyes 2 in order to see it. This sequel to Danny Boyle’s 2002 contagion masterpiece has a number of things going for it (including Robert Carlyle), but it committee written screenplay (no more Alex Garland), heftier production values (sadly, no more DV grittiness), and higher emphasis on action would lead one to believe this is just another horror film cash-in. To cut a long rant short, I’ll just usher you on to the trailer. Frankly, it doesn’t really grab me. But it wouldn’t be the first time a trailer didn’t do proper service to a film (see: James Gunn’s Slither). We’ll see once 28 Weeks Later hits theaters, May 11th.
I’m seeing it. And I’m seeing the sequels. 28 Days Later rocked my soul. I can’t wait for this.
I plan on seeing it…but if it is god awful I think it will tarnish the legacy of 28 Days Later…which will make me mad.
But it won’t be bad. It will be good! And you will eat your own arm because it is so good!
What happened to the first guy and the two girls?
No idea. I don’t think it really matters though. Think Dawn of the Dead. It follows Night of the Living Dead, but is about a completely different group of people.
@Azrael: Eat your arm?
i loved the first one…i want to see it again before i go out and see this one. A huge statement coming from me, cause i simply don’t watch horror films.
