First cases of Asian Bird Flu found in a commercial poultry farm in Nigeria. Teams are investigating; so far they’re unsure if any humans have been infected.. certainly they have been exposed to it. Officials blame illegal imports.
Contrary to what the Chinese Govt would like to have the world believe, Asian Bird Flu is spreading and has killed in Turkey (no pun intended), the Balkans, Northern Iraq and is currently touring around Europe as we speak. Oh and by the way, the virus has already mutated. Not quite to human-to-human infection crisis yet, but it’s a diligent little sucker. Meet strain #2.
Scientists fear that H5N1, which has killed at least 88 people in seven countries since it re-emerged in late 2003, could mutate into a form that passes easily from person to person, sparking a human influenza pandemic.
