Bad Day for Ducks and Deer

I just want to take a breather from the political and entertainment reviews and just ask for a moment of silence. Although maybe some of you or maybe many of you are not animal lovers or do not own a pet, you must know that sometimes Nature can be hecka cruel.

This morning while downstairs with the IT guys, I witnessed the aftermath of a mama duck chasing, rattling, and drowning two of another mama duck’s babies. She apparently snapped their necks and held them underwater. Later today, while taking a walk around the pond, I noticed only one duck nestled beside each mother. In the shallow water, six other fluffy victims floated belly up.

On top of that, I saw a doe that was apparently smashed on 101N and “somehow” dragged over to the center divider, according to the greenish, yellowish, and brownish blood and entrail trail. If you know 101, this is over by the Redwood City exit, where the highway is flanked by auto dealerships. So where did the deer come from?
