Best Scenes from LaBute’s The Wicker Man

So we saw the Wicker Man remake a while back. Not that great, but not as bad as everyone is saying either. One of the interesting things Kris was mentioning was that she wasn’t sure Neil LaBute is a feminist or a chauvanist…the men in his film are all either pathetic or absolute jerks, and the women pretty strong, yet they could come across bitchy. Anyways, here’s a clip containing the “Best Scenes” from LaBute’s take on The Wicker Man. Basically it’s 2 minutes of Nick Cage overacting and acting like “an A-Hole”. It doesn’t have any of the better lines of sarcasm, but it’s interesting to see what a departure Cage’s Edward Malus was from Sergeant Howie.
What do you think? LaBute hates women, or hates asshole men?
