That gurgly Chewbacca roar heard in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood California fell silent this Saturday when a fuzzy Star Wars impersonator revoked his personal space and headbutted a tour guide. The man confronted the 6′5″ 44-year-old street actor about harassing two young Japanese tourists and thought he made his point until the fake Chewy lashed out just like the movie Chewy (wasn’t there a scene where Mr. Furry Face goes postal over a game of futuristic chess?) It is an unfortunate fact that street performers at the L.A. landmark are getting out of hand, angered when tourists refuse to pay up after voluntary photo ops. Two years ago at Grauman’s, Elmo was even arrested for “aggressive begging”. Tell me, what is the world coming to?
