DVD Release Calendar: Big Bang Love: Juvenile A , The Wolves, A Hardest Night and more
So I was poking around the net and noticed AnimEigo updated their release calendar through May of next year. Slated for release are everything from Shogun Assassin III (a new dub created specifically by AnimEigo) to Takashi Miike’s Big Bang Love, Juvenile A (aka: 4.6 Billion years of Love). A brief rundown of the films, and release dates follows:
9/11/2007 – Shogun Assassin III
10/2007 – Shinobi no Mono
11/2007 – Battle of Okinawa, dir. Kihachi Okamoto
01/2008 – Big Bang Love, Juvenile A, dir. Takashi Miike
04/2008 – The Wolves, dir. Hideo Gosha
05/2008 – A Hardest Night, (aka: Nezu no ban, review here)
All in all, a great lineup for the next nine months.
Also, in other news, Synapse Films sent me a press release regarding their Impulse pictures branch’s release of the second film in the Schoolgirl Report series. Now, this isn’t exactly my thing, but it’s possible some of you are interested. The press release synopsis states “Based on the continued studies of Gunther Hunold, SCHOOLGIRL REPORT #2: WHAT KEEPS PARENTS AWAKE AT NIGHT reintroduces Friedrich von Thun as the reporter assigned to document the sexual studies of German teenagers and their unbelievable sexual habits.” Again, not my thing, but DVD Talk and 10Kbullets.com both seemed to like the first one. The DVD releases September 25th.
Lastly, Discotek media is set to release Lupin III: The Fuma Conspiracy on October 30, 2007, and A Chinese Torture Chamber Story this November. You can find out more at the Discotek Media blog here.
