No North Pole? Earth melts right before our eyes

Global warming was supposed to be at its worst in 2050. That seemed like an alarmingly short time away, but studies now show that the Arctic ice cap (aka: the North Pole) is melting 30 years ahead of predictions, which means unbearable temperatures are just a little over a decade away. That means in our lifetime, so listen up all you skeptics who want to pass the buck to the next generation.

If you’ve kept up with environment news, you already know that the glaciers are melting from the inside out, forming gigantic pools and lakes beneath. Simply put, what happens to a hollowed ice cube that’s been sitting for a while in a glass of water? It melts even faster. The water level rises and the water warms up. That’s what’s happening to the North Pole. We’re facing an iceless summer on the Arctic Ocean by 2020!

Arctic ice helps to cool the rest of the world and its absence could mean more than year-round bermuda shorts, it could mean disastrous heat-related famine (parched earth/crops) or energy crisis (A/C compensation) and worse! And that’s after all the devastating floods. And that’s not including Polar Bear extinction. And that’s just my non-scientific speculation; I’m sure the crisis could be much worse and is becoming much worse at an alarming rate.
