So you may have heard that Britney Spears has been chosen to be the spokesperson for a Candies brand clothing line exclusively available at Kohl’s (above), where The Hills ex-star Lauren Conrad, previously dropped from Kitson, will be designing an exclusive collection.

And you may have also heard about Miley Cyrus’ new clothing line at Walmart, where she partnered up with Max Azria (of BCBG and Herve Leger) to design pieces (tops, pants, graphic tees, shoes, accessories) inspired by the teen popper’s “rock-n-roll” style, all available for under $20, released this month. Well, here are a few more upcoming collections that are receiving a welcome reception in this economic recession.

Designer Anna Sui has created a line for Target claiming it is inspired wholly by the CW’s popular series Gossip Girl, which follows über silver spoon teens, and more importantly, their fashion sense. But what Ms. Sui didn’t declare was that these designs actually look suspiciously “inspired” from her couture line a few years back (see above, compiled by Austin). At Target stores September 13.

Following in the for-frugal’s sake footsteps of Karl Lagerfeld and Roberto Cavalli, this will be the first stab at clothing design for the famous shoe (and handbag) designer. But fans, don’t fret, he has also designed inexpensive shoes and bags to complete the cheap chic line. There will also be a men’s shoe, bag, accessories collection. Look for the lines come November 14.

Stella McCartney had such a successful run at H&M, Target, and Adidas, she decided to start designing for GapKids and babyGap; lines to be released this November.
