Flags of Our Fathers… an imdb snub?

Hey, I’m just curious as to why one of the main characters and arguably one of the top two characters out of the entire movie focus wasn’t even mentioned in the headliner copy on the front page of imdb? Adam Beach, who plays Native American Private First Class Ira Hayes, has been nixed for Joseph Cross, who had about five minutes of screen time.

Judging by Cross’ imdb profile, he doesn’t seem any more wildly popular over Hayes, in fact he’s listed #16 on the actor list for Flags. Besides, Hayes bit in Paris Hilton’s Bottom’s Up should have vaulted him to mega-star status material alone, right? Perhaps they are trying to sneak in a promo for Running with Scissors which Cross stars in, but why not give credit where credit is due? I’m just a little confused here.

Welcome to the Internet Movie Database, the biggest, best, most award-winning movie site on the planet.

Director Clint Eastwood’s Flags of Our Fathers recounts the stories of the six men who raised the U.S. flag at the battle of Iwo Jima. The photo that captured the moment would immortalize the soldiers forever, though some did not live to know of it. Those that did survive found themselves in the uneasy role of national heroes and, much to their dismay, were taken away from their brothers in arms to act as symbols even as the real war continued to rage on. The ensemble cast includes Ryan Phillippe, Joseph Cross, and Jesse Bradford.

  1. OMG by your logic the guy who had sex with paris hilton shoul dalso be a mega star. Try to convince your parents that you no longer need therapy but skills regarding common sense and transparent observation capabilities leave room for vast improvement! Paris Hilton is not talented, thus being in a movie with paris hilton should not equate to you being a mega star.
