Hero or Zero? Barry Bonds

Ironically, a New Yorker who was just in SF on a one-day layover wound up with Barry Bonds’ record-breaking homer baseball #756. Heckled for his Yankees jersey and hat, Matt Murphy held his own in the battle for the prized ball, which left him with ripped clothing and a couple of knocks to the noggin. The 21 year old could now sell the ball for an estimated $400,000-$500,000 (Mark McGwire’s 70th homerun ball went for $3.3 million in 1998).

Question is, do you think that Bonds’ homeruns are legit? He said that he wasn’t aware that the cream and the oil given to him by B.A.L.C.O man Greg Anderson contained steroids (THG), even though well-known slangs for THG are “the cream” and “the oil”. So do you think he honestly thought he was given arthritis balm and flaxseed oil? Even if he is completely innocent, does his unwitting usage negate fair competition and record-holding status?

  1. Bonds is a piece of shit. He should get with Killery Clinton and they could be two shits in a bowl. What a lying stupid fuck he is. He’s sullied the name of baseball. Stupid Barry, stupid steroid using sonnovabitch.

Sorry, I get mad when I talk about Barry Bonds.

  2. Never did like Bonds, even before the BALCO scandal. My vote is in for “unfair”.

  3. I think it’s okay. So he may have enhanced his performance. It’s no different than getting the test answers before the test. I do it all the time. I’d never take a test without knowing the answers first. It’s just smart. That’s why I graduated with honors. All the people that don’t like him are just mad that they didn’t enhance their performance. But those people take viagra, don’t they? Viagra is giving you power you never had. So, if you are impotent, too bad. You cannot hit the home run. Sound fair? What will your girlfriend think? She will laugh because you are so small. That is why I support Barrys Bonds.

  4. I will weigh in on this. People need to stop obsessing about Bonds!! People are worried that the record will be remembered as tainted because “he obviously did steroids”. First of all, it’s only going to be remembered at all because the media (including ESPN) keeps hammering it home every day, every 5 minutes, that he was gonna break a record. Secondly, who isn’t sick of this whole Barry Bonds hype anyway? I mean I used to be a Giants fan (as well as the raging A’s fan I am) but I lost interest in the Giants when they ceased to be the Giants and proceeded to be “Barry Bonds…. and 24 other guys who play in San Francisco”. Sure Bonds is a great player in the modern era, or maybe he really is a steroid user and deserves our hatred. Either way there are other guys on the team, and people deserve have others talked about on the damn team.
Every day during Bonds pursuit it seemed like that’s 75% of what was talked about on Sportscenter was him… Maybe now that he’s broken the stupid record and get on with our baseball lives and stop obsessing over an old baseball player…. besides Alex Rodriguez is probably going to smash Bonds record some day and then whether or not Bonds used steroids will be irrelevant because he will no longer be the home run king. That is all
