Honeymoons and videogames.
Things have been rather quiet on Dreamlogic.net as of late. But not without good reason. Kris and I just got back from our 2nd honeymoon in New York. We crammed a week’s worth of sightseeing into three days. Our feet are still recovering. Things we saw included the Chihuly exhibit at the New York Botanical Gardens, the Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum, Times Square, Nathan’s Coney Island International Hot Dog Eating Contest, the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks on the East River (they closed off the FDR for this!!), The Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Flatiron Building, Trump Tower, Central Park, the original Soup Nazi (aka: The Original Soup Man) establishment, The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the old financial district, the WTC site, NY Chinatown (where I bought a “DVDVD”), and a whole lot more. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever been on.
We did manage to see a few films in the days following the trip, but none of them, save for Pirates, was really worth writing home about. Superman Returns was yet another exercise in super-heroic tedium by Brian Singer, and X3 made Condor Man seem brilliant in comparison. This past weekend was spent recovering, and rediscovering video games. I spent lots of time with Gran Turismo 4, finally beating Final Fantasy X, and killing baddies in our newest acquisition, Hitman: Blood Money (Game’s amazing. Expect a review later this week.) Kris, on the other hand, spent quite a bit of time creating and rearing a facsimilie family in the Sims 2. If you’ve played the Sims before you know that’s a day’s commitment right there.
So yes, we’ve been quite busy, but we’re still here. We’ll have lots of cool stuff, including brand new contests, reviews, and pics from the ubertrip in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
