Imagine my surprise when I found out that Google actually had some cute looking time-of-day-sensitive backgrounds for their iGoogle feature publicly launched on Tuesday. I mean, they are well known for their stark simplicity. Although it may sound like it, iGoogle is not an Apple affiliation, and it’s like My Yahoo! where you can completely customize your Search Engine experience, allowing the user to choose what and where dynamic content such as RSS feeds, video or weather modules display. Also launched is a feature dubbed Google Gadgets which are like Yahoo! Widgets yet not as slick looking. A few include GoogleGram temporary ecards, The Daily Me miniblog feeds, The Personal List for user faves. Google also plans to unveil My Community where users can share their created gadgets with their Gmail contacts.
When iGoogle launched, it was responsible for data content loss (calendar and digi sticky notes) across the Google user community, but Google engineers are quickly attempting to recover. That may put a damper on their high hopes for Google Docs, their word processing suite that’s completely online.
Thanks to Chris’ friend Nikolay for alerting us to this!

hmm. Google cute? I smell something fishy.
Yah, and they’re actually much cuter than the MyYahoo! backgrounds.. much to my dismay :(
