So today marks the release of New Line’s Incubus, starring Tara Reid. No, it’s not a remake of the Shatner film where he spoke the made up language. Having Tara Reid in a remake of a Shatner film would piss off Shatner fans something fierce. Actually, it looks more like a take on Gantz, crossed with a slasher film. Anyways what makes this film interesting is that it’s the first direct-to-download film released in America. Now, we all know that our American Direct to Video films leave everything to be desired, so one would expect a direct to internet film to somehow be even worse. I mean, they’re not even spending money to press a $0.05 DVD of the film. And then there’s the fact it stars Tara Reid. But, for those of you who are truly adventurous types (and I know you’re out there) head on over to AOL’s b-red.com and check out the film.
The story outline is as follows:
INCUBUS, the story of six teenagers who break into what they think is an abandoned factory to seek shelter. They quickly find themselves trapped and realize too late that they are not alone. Suspended in a triple locked shatter proof clear cube attached to an observation room is a coma patient obviously being tested and experimented on. The bizarre sleeper and his horrific powers hold the key to their escape and ultimately their survival.
