Iran.. just finishing what we started
Hey so the other day my friend emails me with the usual polite morning intro “wut r u doing?” and so I’m like “Worrying about Iran.. what else?” I don’t think that’s what he wanted to hear, but how can you ignore it when it’s driving gasoline prices up and up yet again. More importantly, now springs up yet another blatant impending boiling enemy packed with new and improved nuclear power pointed at us US us!
Here’s what seems to be our current Foreign Relations Policy.. pretend to be buddy-buddy, then backstab ‘em and piss ‘em all off and try to start over again. And neither Korea nor Iran wish to hold open sessions with us concerning their so-called “friendly nuclear activity”. We should just trust them like they trusted us perhaps?
Here on dreamlogic, I briefly mentioned America’s little beef between Iran and China and their impending influence on America’s future oil dependency, er diplomacy. Ever notice how all of our bullying and switching sides plays out like a nasty game of “Red Robin”? And this from a president who’s main campaign was to neenerneener his opponent with “you flip-flopper”. This from a country who supplied Iran with weapons* in the mid-80s, in conscious effort to free US hostages in Lebanon. And if you believed that, you prolly also believe that George W is really trying to liberate Iraq.
*In case you don’t know nor remember.. this name should ring a bell: Oliver North. North was implicated (fancy litigious word for “caught red-handed”) with a hefty mark-up. He wasn’t alone; Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger, National Security Advisor John Poindexter joined him, among others. Even though Weinberger was indicted for deception against the Independent Counsel, he was later pardoned by George W’s daddy. Poindexter’s multiple felonies were reversed in 1991. Memo to future bigwigs: you should know better, or at least cover your tracks better.
President (Republican Reagan) was found to have no connection nor accessory to this horribly shameful display of smartbeans capitalism. His punishment? Alzheimers.
