Earlier today a 67-year old woman was the first victim found in a Kansas City shooting spree that ended at a nearby shopping mall with three more fatally wounded, including the assailant. Three others total were wounded.
The first victim was found dead in her kitchen and family members revealed that one of her neighbors had been harassing her and hadn’t seen her in a couple of days. She lived in an upscale south Kansas City neighborhood. The murderer had stolen her car and went for a little drive. When he was pulled over by the police, he complied for a bit, then shot the officer in the arm and fled. Oh he’s in trouble now. He must’ve thought he ought to go out with a bang. Where will you find a gaggle of people on Sunday afternoon?, he might have thought. To the mall! The next two victims were immediately shot after the killer parked his car at the Ward Parkway Center. They were the unlucky ones who were parked on either side of him. It’s one thing to find parking at the mall on a weekend… He then walked into the shopping plaza and wounded two more before the police ended his rampage.
Thankfully he didn’t kill more people.. maybe he only brought a few bullets? Sources haven’t identified his weapon yet, only divulged that it was “a long gun”. Does that mean Civil War era pistol or a rifle?
Let’s just hope this madness is the “April Curse” (e.g: April 15, 1995 - Oklahoma City bombing; April 19, 1993 - Waco Massacre; April 20, 1999 - Columbine) and it’ll end tomorrrow.
