Karaoke Room 2

I could have sworn there was already a Karaoke Room 2 but by the McCully Times supermarket(?). Maybe that was Karaoke Room 1? I even asked the clerk about it and I’ve already forgotten the info. Erg, I have got to pay attention. It was awesome ‘cos you could get drinks and snacks by the bagful and just haul them across the street for a karaoke picnic party. Anyways, there’s a Karaoke Room 2 on Kapi’olani now, and across the street there is a neon strip club (amidst the ones that look like converted apartments) Femme Nu, which has been around fo’eva yah?
Now this is how karaoke should be. Tons of quality variety songs, no smoking, outside food/drinks allowed, friendly bend-over-backwards staff, gratuitous hours and reduced prices on-the-fly just-because. I remember karaoke places being way more posh than this place, but the rooms are pretty large and everything’s painted black to give it a pseudo “sophistication”, I suppose. Mismatched living room table lamps set the “mood” since the disco ball was inoperable. There were some moke-ish (thug) guys and I think some homeless lady hanging around, but they did no one no harm.
Danny, the soft-spoken sweetheart who mans the desk at all hours of the day and night, was so freaking nice that we went back twice. Don’t believe the prices quoted on their brochures, since the cheapest rate is $28/hr, but we were charged only $10. Saving money? Music to my ears.
