Kiyoshi Kurosawa Retrospective at SFIAFF '09

The San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival begins March 12th, and boy does this year’s line-up look nice. Case in point, the festival’s Spotlight on Kiyoshi Kurosawa, a collection of seven of Kurosawa’s films, many not released in the US in any form, beginning with his latest, Tokyo Sonata. You can safely bet we’ll be attending as many of these as humanly possible.

The full Kurowsawa lineup includes:

  • Tokyo Sonata – Friday 3/13 – 6:45pm, Kabuki | Saturday 3/14 – 6:00pm, Palace of Fine Arts
  • Eyes of the Spider (double feature) – Friday 3/13 – 10:00pm, Castro ***
  • Serpent’s Path (double feature) – Friday 3/13 – 10:00, Castro ***
  • License to Live (starring Koji Yakusho) – Saturday 3/14 – 1:00pm, Kabuki
  • Pulse (starring Koyuki) – 3:15pm, Sunday 3/15 – 8:00pm, Palace of Fine Arts
  • The Revenge: A Visit From Fate (starring Sho Aikawa) – Wednesday 3/18 – 6:30pm, Palace of Fine Arts
  • The Revenge: The Scar That Never Fades (ditto) – Wednesday 3/18 – 8:15pm, Palace of Fine Arts

***Kiyoshi Kurosawa is expected to be in attendance at these screenings.
