Look Ma, no buttons! It’s my new iPhone

The great big announcement at Macworld from Steve Jobs is the iPhone. Even if you knew it was coming, you weren’t sure it would be quite like this. As always, dummy images were dispersed on blogs and the media as some kind of speculation diversion. Apple was supposedly in talks with (it seemed) every single cellphone corporation in the world. Cingular and AT&T are the actual partners, granting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0, Quad-band GSM + EDGE, visual voicemail, email (for any IMAP or POP3 service), internet, even widgets and GPS capabilities for the new techno darling that will be on everyone’s immediate wishlist.

The phone is completely devoid of pesky buttons or unwanted dials, yah you know Apple hates bumps and loves smoooooth. It is a flat 3.5″ touchscreen that doesn’t need a stylus and utilizes what they dubbed a “multi-touch Accelerometer”.

It’s a photo gallery, a jukebox, a map, a mailbox, a web browser oh yah, and a phone. $599 for 8GB flash memory and 2-year contract, $499 for 4GB. Check out Apple’s official iPhone page here.

  1. After my phone contract expires (in a year) I’d love to switch over to this! So how many people are going to go crazy waiting ’till June to get one of these?

I think Apple is gonna revolutionize mobile tech the same way they have music.

  2. Ah, I see you all jumped on the Apple train-wait, isn’t someone already on that one? Anyway, looks slick but i fear the early adopters and fanboys might get the short end of the stick. Look at all the problems with all pre gen 4 iPods, the multitude of mooing macbooks and screen problems. With that said, I will most likely still lust after one when they are released in June.
