Lost in Translation: Jism, the Movie

So I was at the local library the other day when I spotted a rather shockingly titled video on the foreign dvd rack. The film? Jism: The Dark Side of Desire. For those not in the know, Jism is another slang term for semen. If that in and of itself doesn’t tickle your funnybone, check out the full cover dvd tagline:

Never has a woman been so beautiful, so exotic, so dangerous to know…Jism.

This being an erotic thriller/musical, the tagline lends itself to conotations of all kinds of dirty.

Now, to be fair Jism is an Indian word meaning “body”, and the film does have a release in the US with the translated title, but this was the version I found in the library, and the one I had a good laugh over, so I’m still gonna point it out.
