The SF Indie Fest just announced their opening and closing night films for the 2007 festival. The former, as mentioned in the title of this article, will be David Lynch’s latest, Inland Empire. From the SF Indie MySpace blog:
On Thursday, February 8, 2007 we are delighted to open the Festival with David Lynch’s INLAND EMPIRE. The film starts at 7pm at the historic Castro Theatre, and we invite you to join us after the film for the Opening Night Gala at the Porn Palace. We guarantee it will be a memorable evening.
Inland Empire at the Porn Palace? How could anyone pass that up? On a side note, Kris and my initial viewing of Mullholland Drive was in a theater packed with senior citizens, out on a field trip to the cinema. It doesn’t get more uncomfortable than that.
The closing film will be a zombie romance comedy called Fido. For more info on both films, check out SF Indie’s original blog post on the subject, here.
