Bigfoot mimics a vinyl-head version of mister famous pasty-face Ronald McDonald in upcoming television commercials aimed for the GenY and gen-yy demographic. (Dunno if that last one exists; I just made it up like staticians often do.) Seems like Sasquatch isn’t the only copycat; critics say the new plasticky Mickey D is a liiiittle too similar to the mute “King” from recent Burger King’s commercials.
McDonald’s and its competitors are trying to boost their cool quotient as they target teenagers and 20-somethings. That age group has fewer big expenses, such as mortgages, and more of a willingness to use disposable income try new products.
The new McDonald’s spots are part of an ongoing effort to update the company’s 50-year-old brand, but some industry watchers said they appear to be a “me too” response to mascot campaigns from rival hamburger chains. MORE..

LOL. Interesting. But it’s kinda silly if they’re trying to emulate the Burger King commercials. I find those creepy.
Speaking of creepy, does anyone remember the weirdness that was McDonald’s I-AM-ASIAN.COM? Looks like they just got a site re-design.
Wow…I-Am-Asian.com IS really creepy! Chris, this is for you: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5847984513475560733&q=yellow+fever.
