Menlo Park salt and Star Wars?

The Bedwell Bayfront Park on the outskirts of Menlo Park. This is the magically trippy spot where Chris and I filmed our Star Wars Uncut scenes, although when we filmed, several months after these photographs were snapped, the water was no longer Kool-Aid… well, more grape Kool-Aid I guess.
These photos were not doctored; I believe the presence of halophilic archaebacteria actually turns the saturated brine crimson.
Bayfront Park was built on the site of a former landfill. The landfill has been turned into natural-looking hills covered with grasses, bushes, and scattered eucalyptus and pine trees. A complex network of paths covers the hills. They range from old paved landfill roads, to new smooth gravel bikepaths, to narrow rugged footpaths. Surrounding the hills are salt ponds, salt marshes, and sloughs.
