A baby boy was born in China with two left arms. Surgeons are eager to slice that puppy right off, but the ultimate question remains.. was it really a reabsorption of a possible fetal twin or is it something in the water/air there? I can’t help but wonder if this was a female infant born several decades prior.. would it stand a chance?

Real life Suicide Circle? Japan statistics show a slight spike in suicides, but unlike the popular and brutal aforementioned movie, where an entire classroom jumps in front of a subway train or off a building ledge, these are serious work-stress related deaths. However, there are suicide websites in Japan and they do follow through (up from 34 deaths in 2003 to 54 in 2004). Japan follows Russia with a rate of ~25.3 per 100,000 (roughly 32,000). USA is approx 11. Because the Japanese believe that suicide relieves burden of shame, they are more likely to take their own life to save their family. Unlike US life insurance policies, Japan companies honor the claims even if the policy holder committed suicide.

Whoa. In one of the largest caves in Israel, scientists discovered eight new species, locked away for millions of years in the depths of an underground lake. One is scorpion-like and a few are shrimp-ish. With an estimated 1-43 extinct species per hour, a measly eight won’t provide balance, but it’s cool nonetheless.

This has got to be a joke. When Oasis debuted, I kept hearing “oh they’re the new Beatles blahblah”. Well apparently some ppl think they are even better than the Beatles, according to a recent All Time Top 100 Best Brit Albums poll. Wait, is this that album that only had two barely listenable tracks on it? No it’s not even that one, it’s the one with “Supersonic” on it, bleh!! “What’s the Story Morning Glory” actually came in fifth after Radiohead’s “OK Computer” and before Nirvana. At least the Beatles claimed #2 and #3 with “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Revolver” (my all-time favorite Beatles album) respectively. the Strokes (a Chris and Kris fave) made it on the list at #20. In yet another poll, Oasis’ “Definitely Maybe” beat out not only “Revolver”, but the Sex Pistols and the Clash. In fact, there are so many polls where Oasis comes out on top that I’m convinced all the voters were high. Trivia Time: In 2001 Madame Tussaud’s (London) asked 800 visitors who they disliked the most. Oasis’ lead “singer” Liam Gallagher ended just behind Adolf Hitler and Slobodan Milošević, way before Saddam Hussein. [Source: Wikipedia]

No no no don’t call him DMX. Because the rapper is so involved with Christianity, he no longer wishes to be associated with the “Dark Man” euphemism. Any suggestions for his name change? Remember, his given name is Earl, so something better than that, please.

Anna Nicole Smith is preggers. Or so she says. But who cares? I just think it’s funny that her attorney’s name is Howard K. Stern. How appropriate.
