Learn from the Bushs. How do you manipulate something long after your reign is over? Implement as many things as you can with extended deadlines upon extended deadlines. Now that we’re “helping” security planning, we’re looking at a 2008 welcome home date. After the military disclosed that close to 30,000 (out of 130,000) soldiers would be turning towards US soil in the Summer, we have actually added close to 10,000 soldiers. So forgive me if I don’t seem too optimistic about getting them out before Bush is out of office in Jan 2009. We’re never just going to leave them alone and get our troops home.

Not just Mr. Universe, but Mr. Environment. California Governator Schwarzenegger is once again proving himself to be earth friendly by making CA the first state to enforce greenhouse emissions limitations on factories and industries. This week he also worked with Democrats on plans to create a prescription drug discount program and to raise the state’s minimum wage. Instead of fretting over the latter, why don’t we just cut out sales commission, especially for car dealerships and real estate agent bloodsuckers. Oh, gee thanks lady, I didn’t know that was the kitchen, thank god you were here to tell me. WTF?

Stanford University to cut benefits. Their reasoning? Everyone else is doing it.

Did you know… 7-11 started off as a store that sold only one thing: ice. It kind of makes sense that they transitioned into serving up the ultimate convenience store icy treat, the Slurpee. Formerly the Southland Ice Co, they changed the name to 7-11 in 1946 to correspond with their hours of operation. In some areas, they are testing drive-thru service.

Airlines used to hand out little black books for passengers to collect flight attendants’ phone numbers with. Some airlines made the flight attendant’s do a striptease-type dance in the aisles as part of the “in-air” entertainment. They also wore paper dresses that men were allowed to spill their drinks on “accidentally” to create their own personal peepshow.
