Saturn SKY.. fantastico or fugly?

dreamlogic.net's MUSING . Saturn SKY Fantastico or FuglyOh so Saturn made a sportscar? The fairy safety queen of boring rounded edges decided to embark on the speed demon market? Well, it’s a concept that audiences had to be slowly introduced to. In fact, its styling is directly lifted from the Vauxhall VX Lightning concept, but without the trippy vacuum attachment-like rear view mirrors and Honda-esque taillights. When they realized everyone loves concept cars, Saturn made their move.

I saw a dark green (like korean mochi dark green) one of these on the road a few weeks ago and let’s just say that the driver seemed like he didn’t care that he was driving borrowed elements: a smushed and angular S2000 with SC430/Solara sliver headlights and grilled-over LED Kikaida eyes for taillights. In fact, he was also driving like a guy who didn’t realize he was in a Saturn.

Rumor has it that this crazy creation is the replacement for the much anticipated Vauxhall VX220/Opel Speedster release, which was based on the Lotus Elise. The Saturn SKY sportscoupe will be released in Europe as the Opel GT and in Korea as the Daewoo G2X. Newsflash, they’re all GM. And you thought there were more than five major automotive manufacturers.

But just for superficial sake, would you rate this car as fantastico or fugly? Why, it’s almost as ugly as the Solstice, the dreamlogic.net's MUSING . Saturn SKY Fantastico or FuglyPontiac version of the Sky with a Norelco grill. Or the new Camry hybrid with the Subaru-reject nose. And it’s almost as ugly as the Ferrari Enzo (pictured right), except that that one gets points for trying to be a pig-snouted Transformer.
