ANIME

Sgt Keroro, Earth conquerer

dreamlogic.net's ARTICLE . Sgt KeroroChô gekijô-ban Keroro gunsô aka: the Sgt Keroro/Frog movie. I’m not a fan of anime, but I want to see this film!

All I know so far is that Yusuke Yamamoto is the director, the screenwriter is Mine Yoshizaki (both fairly “green”) and it was released in March. In Japan. All I know about the series is that it is a verrrry popular show and manga in Japan and we only have the manga in the US. It involves a Sergeant Keroro who is an alien frog bent on conquering Earth. He has several cohorts, a black&white guy who’s supposed to be the cutesy novice/youngin/perv, an orange guy who is the techie and is always spacing out all googly eyed in front of his Mac (I have him keeping me company at work), and a bright blue ninja dude. I assumed their enemy is the burgundy colored guy with the evil eyes, but I guess that’s just the “tough guy”. Oh yah, and I want to see this movie!

imdb.com’s synopsis of the TV show:
Sergeant Keroro, a frog-like alien invader, is captured in the line of duty by two Japanese teenagers while scouting for an invasion of Earth. After being left behind when the mission is aborted, Keroro is taken in (with some reluctance on all parties) by his captors: Fuyuki Hinata, his big sister Natsumi, and their single mom Aki. Keroro quickly begins plotting his comeback, scheming to reunite with his amphibian squad-mates (the mercurial Private Tamama, the gruff Corporal Giroro, the mischievous Sgt. Major Kururu, and the enigmatic Dororo) and renew their plan to conquer Earth (or “Pokopen”, as the invaders call it)… when he’s not being distracted by building Gundam model kits, or by other aspects of Earth culture.
