It’s the second week since Mike Judge’s latest film reached limited release, and still no screenings in the San Francisco bay area, nor in the cultural mecca that is New York. Sad. Kris and I have been waiting for it to release for quite a while. If you’ve not heard of Idiocracy, you’re not alone. Check out the NPR news blurb on Fox’s bungling of the film’s promotion here. Whether this treatment of the film was out of a contractual obligation or fears of litigation from the corporate entities satirized in the film, I don’t know. It’s just sad that Fox thinks movies like Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties and Ice Age 2 were more worth their time. Idiocracy indeed.
