Sweet Price Drops on PS2 Titles

So Dragon’s Quest VIII is finally down to $20. I know, most of you interested in the game already have it, but for videogame cheapskates such as myself, I’ve been waiting quite some time for this to happen. The game’s downright awesome, and definitely worth the original purchase price, but now proves a more justifiable purchase for those of us with jobs, relationships, and other non-videogame hobbies taking up our time (To give you an idea of my crazy schedule, it took me over 5 years before I had enough time to finish Final Fantasy X.).

If Dragon’s Quest is too mainstream for you, you may want to check out Metal Saga. Though still priced at about $39.99 at most stores, I have seen it for about $20 on eBay. The game’s an open ended RPG set in a post apocalyptic world of tanks and evil robots. There’s no real story to speak of but the open ended gameplay allows you to do pretty much whatever you feel like. The game’s exceedingly quirky, with hilarously off the wall the character interactions and some downright oddball enemies. I haven’t played much of it yet, but so far I’ve found it a lot of fun.

Another cheapie title that’s kind of fun is Genji: Dawn of the Samurai. It’s your average hack-and-slash adventure, good for (gorgeously rendered) mindless fun on a Sunday afternoon, and is now priced at about $12.99 at Fry’s. Check it out.
