This has been the busiest Summer I’ve ever experienced. Seriously, things have been insane. And, so far, Fall’s shaping up to be even more intense.

Since my last update I’ve actually seen surprisingly few things, most of my free time being spent reading, researching, chilling with Kris, or simply indulging in old DOS games. When I actually had time to sit in front of the TV, I found myself opting for television shows on DVD rather than taking from my towering film queue.

So, this update is going to ...

I haven’t ordered from his section, I usually stick to the daily specials like veggie paninis or falafels. Consistency is not their game, with tender wedge fries one day and denture-denting the next. Maybe they’re refrying ‘em? The pasta is passable, relying on additions like sausage or mushrooms to save it from Bland City. Your tastebuds won’t ever be blown away here, in fact I use ...

Director: Michel Gondry
Starring: Dante “Mos Def” Smith, Jack Black, Danny Glover
Genre: comedy, mainstream
Release Date: February 22, 2008

We saw this and I wrote this nearly a month ago, but I kept procrastinating, reluctant to shed negativity on such a wonderful person like Michel Gondry.. but I guess it has to be done.
I had high hopes for Be Kind Rewind, being a huge fan of Michel Gondry’s wildly imaginative theatrics in his music videos; his film foray swept me off my feet with the sweet (and bittersweet) romance in Eternal Sunshine of ...

Sukiyaki Western Django . Most of you probably are familiar with Takashi Miike’s latest, a gonzo Japanese western, and have probably seen your fair share of trailers. But now there’s a trailer in quicktime! Check it out here.

If you’ve ever thought to yourself “hey Self, wouldn’t it be great if someone would make a movie starring Jack Black, Danny Glover, Mia Farrow and Mos Def?” Well, Michel Gondry has answered that dream. Yes, the genius behind wildly beautiful Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and music videos rife with inventive cutesy cardboard cut-outs and an uncanny grasp of space/time continuum is creating yet another trippy realm.
Be Kind Rewind is about a guy (Danny Glover) who owns a video store (like think oooold school ...
