Wolfgang Petersen is making a live-action Paprika. I heard about this earlier in the month, but am still in shock. The famed director of Das Boot, The Perfect Storm, Troy, Air Force One, Outbreak is working on a live-action rendition of the amazing anime Paprika. Maybe he has more in common with Satoshi Kon than I initially gave him credit for: they both excel at cataclysmic epics. Yet, I wonder why mess with a good thing?

Brüno skits are usually the least humorous on the Sacha Baron Cohen totem pole of social-commentary hilarity, which includes Ali G and now world famous Borat. But can a character like Brüno (brash, rash, ever so slightly gay) be nearly as popular as Borat’s naïve pupil searching for education on American culture shtick? Let’s take a look at the specific topics he hammers home:
Brüno pokes fun at fashion and the industry. He laments with a runway model about the hazards ...

This has been the busiest Summer I’ve ever experienced. Seriously, things have been insane. And, so far, Fall’s shaping up to be even more intense.

Since my last update I’ve actually seen surprisingly few things, most of my free time being spent reading, researching, chilling with Kris, or simply indulging in old DOS games. When I actually had time to sit in front of the TV, I found myself opting for television shows on DVD rather than taking from my towering film queue.

So, this update is going to ...
