The best of grey and orange — big eBay Redesign 2009

by Kris April 22, 2009

Well, it was supposed to be launched Fall of last year, but eBay is ramping up for their big redesign launch… soon. Ironically, most of the key designers on this project are no longer with company. Know why? Burrrrn out. Just kidding. On-campus (and Los Gatos excursion) bocce ball “bonding” was fun, though.

The screenshots are of a few released tests and showcase the emphasis on community, adding a customer reviews section and prominent groupings of pertinent information such as the elusive shipping pricing field, currently found (or not found) floating near the bottom of the page.

The new redesign also features a dynamic countdown clock (not to be confused with the eBay Countdown Chris’ old company developed) when the auction is >24 hours to its end, so sniper bidders won’t have to keep refreshing the darn page.
