Mamoru Hosada’s The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (aka: Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo) will be screening this Saturday, March 17th at 1:00pm at the Castro Theater. The film concerns a 17 year old girl who discovers that she can jump backwards in time. It’s based on a novel by Yasutaka Tsutsui and features character models by the Neon Genesis Evangelion crew.
Now, I have no idea as to the overall tone of the film, but the last time we attended an anime film at the Castro we discovered a new fave (you can read Kris’s review of Tamala 2010 here). The screening is actually part of the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAFF). You can find out more about the festival here.
