The Original Ezekiel 25:17 Speech
Most people, whether they are fans of Tarantino or not, know the Ezekiel 25:17 speech from Pulp Fiction like they know their ABC’s. Now Tarantino has admitted his version does not match any printed bible version of the passage, noting that he had embelished the passage for dramatic effect. He has also noted that the passage itself was an homage to Sonny Chiba character who would quote biblical verses and the like before offing people.
True cult fanatics know exactly where he got the passage, and from exactly what film. So, here’s a little thing to wow your friends at parties.
The Sonny Chiba character is Chiba the Bodyguard, from, you guessed it, the 1976 film Karate Kiba, aka: The Bodyguard. The 25:17 passage is the first scene of the film….well, not really a scene, but rather scrolling text. And, so you don’t have to spend the $3.00 to read the text youself, I have provided screenshots.
