TRAILER PARK . Fast Food Nation, Flags of our Fathers, and more.

Fast Food Nation. Richard Linklater adapts the hit book on the evils/health risks of fast food. Funny, the book is even studied in college Lit classes these days…. See the trailer here.

Flags of our Fathers/Red Sun, Black Sand. Two films on World War II, told from the perspectives of the US and the Japanese respectively. Both films are directed by Clint “the Man” Eastwood. Red Sun, Black Sand stars Ken Watanabe (Last Samurai, Welcome Back, Mr. Mcdonald), and Shido Nakamura (The Neighbor No. 13). Flags of Our Fathers stars Paul Walker (Running Scared) and Watanabe again. Very much looking forward to this one. See the combo trailer here.

The Pursuit of Happyness. Will Smith wants to make you cry, and wonder why this flim’s title is misspelled. This homeless father-and-son-in-San Francisco tearjerker looks pretty good though. Check out the trailer here.

The Black Dahlia. Brian DePalma adapts the James Ellroy novel regarding So-Cal’s most notorious murder. Stars Josh Hartnett, Mia Kirshner and Scarlett (”blonde-smarts”) Johansson. Fun Fact: DePalma used to rent at Videoscope, a small mom and pop video shop, and oldest videostore south of San Francisco. If you go there, tell them Chris sent you.

The Departed. Scorcese remakes Infernal Affairs, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon as Tony Leung and Andy Lau. Scorcese hasn’t really made anything worth watching in the past few years (flame away), but at least the original had a good story. Just a little concerned with his addition of the Jack Nicholson Stap-on scene…

Borat. New Trailer. Just watch it. OMG funny. Check it out here.
