Here’s another batch of films to look out for. There’s actually some pretty cool stuff this time!
- Aoki Okami . Japanese film on the life and times of Genghis Khan.
- Arubaba (aka: Argentine Hag) . The new film by Koki Mitani (The Wow-Choten Hotel). It features Koji Yakusho and illustrations by Yoshitomo Nara.
- Dororo . Kou Shibasaki is wielding “knives and stabbing weapons” again! It’s sort of Mulan-is (female warrior raised as a man) but with a dash of demon fighting. Looks cool.
- Mushi Shi . Anime adaptation? I haven’t done the research yet. Looks interesting, though. Official Site.
- Rescue Dawn . New Herzog Movie about Vietnam POWs. Looks much better than that Ralph Macchio one I saw way back in the day.
- Live Free Or Die Hard . Bruce Willis is back and balder than ever. The film also features Maggie Q as hacker who uses her 1337 skillz to un-scuzzify “The Mac Guy”.
- Black Book . New Paul Verhoven film. I’ll leave it at that.
