TRAILER WATCH . Gone Baby Gone

Oooh, I nearly fell off the sofa when I saw the trailer for Gone Baby Gone. Ben Affleck’s directorial debut takes place in (duh) Boston and stars his super cute little brother (yay yay yay) Casey, who is doing double-duty theatre time with the recent release of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford opposite buddy Brad Pitt. In fact, Gone Baby Gone should be nicknamed “six degrees of Brad Pitt”, or actually “one degree”, or actually “one degree of Brad Pitt and Matt Damon”.. I’ll explain..

Gone Baby Gone is based on a novel penned by Dennis Lehane of Mystic River fame and follows two reluctant investigators (Affleck and Michelle Monaghan — who was in Mr. & Mrs. Smith with the Pittster and Bourne Supremacy with the Mattster) on the case of an abducted four-year-old girl from a baaaad part of town. Also stars the always regal yet approachable Morgan Freeman, who you knew starred with Brad Pitt in Se7en, but might not know will be portraying Nelson Mandela alongside Matt Damon in The Human Factor (2009). There you go, everyone’s connected.

  2. It was a phenomenal film, there’s nothing more that can be said. Casey Affleck is the real deal and his big bro actually has plenty of talent BEHIND the camera.
