Wanna be on Top? Cycle 7 coming soon

Na na na na nana na.. it’s that time again.. time for the scrappy reality show and one of Chris’ and my favorite guilty pleasures, America’s Next Top Model!

This season, seven out of 13 contestants are from California, including a pair of identical twins, Amanda and Michelle from Anaheim, and a girl actually named Melrose. Some of their stills are freaky-looking, and I think I only like Megan, a little pixie-cut cutie (pictured below left), and AJ, the token “edgy rocker chick” (pictured below right). There are no asians in this round, but they’re welcoming their first Indian competitor, Anchal (pictured first row, far right), who has pretty but wide-spaced eyes and hair down to her butt. Props to choosing the first drag contestant in Jaeda (top row, far left). Whoops, sorry, my mistake!

America’s Next Top Model is actually pretty tame, considering it’s a reality show where supposed airheads and trendites are trapped in a house with a few radical intellectuals and/or jesus freaks, having to face their worst fears by doing some Fear Factor type stunts and be pressured to look pretty all the while. I think maybe they will try to pump up the sass this season by adding a slew of 18-year-olds and furnishing a house for 13 girls with only 11 beds, but I really don’t want to see them get too catty.

The first episode airs on 9/20 where the girls will learn from the fabulous “Miss J, Runway Queen” that they will be going straight from the airport to their first photo shoot, which looks like it might be right there in the parking lot.
