We brake for assholes

Am I alone in thinking that the whole “survival of the fittest” thing that designs the primal threat-induced reaction transcends to modern drivers? I mean, there are just bad drivers period, those who can be best classified as “eternal blind spot”-ers, but there’s no call for rude driving. So what if you’re a CEO or have an MBA, so what if you’re stuck behind a little old lady. It’s not our fault if you just needed to leave a little earlier or you’re on a Starbucks-overload-induced rampage.

But maybe the problem lies in the lack of enforcing “courtesy”. Too often I notice what appears to be bias against race and auto make. I rarely see a BMW pulled over, yet am cut off by one almost every day. And what’s with the stuff they tell you in traffic school? How there was a paid study to “prove” that asian drivers are worse behind the wheel basically because their slanty eyes limit peripheral vision? What about caucasians with eyes like Josh Hartnett or Richard Gere? What about the causasians driving Toyotas or Hondas who get repeatedly pulled over? What about the caucasians who park over the line into the adjacent space at my work parkinglot? (Damn Venture Capital firms on the first floor!) What about safe asian drivers like Jackie Chan (pictured below, in red)?

I’m not saying that people who are the traffic-accused are angels, and I’m not saying that people should drive like in Hawai’i (where most locals will hold up traffic just to wave somebody in) I’m just asking for equal opportunity enforcement …and using your turn signals, now that would be nice.
