Weekend Update

No reviews this weekend due to birthday celebrations. Lots of food (SF’s Millennium, review shortly), lots of fun. I did have quite a few presents worth noting, including Zelda on wii, the DVD of The Host (review upcoming, naturally) a crapload of awesome CDs (Love Psychedelico, Mika Nakashima, Dragon Ash, etc.), books, and various anime titles.

In addition to the aforementioned coolenss, in my bout of birthday shopping I came across a genuine used copy of the long out of print Fist of the North Star anime DVD. The Image release of the 1986 film, not the bootleg. And the price? Just $13.95. To give you an idea of what a steal this was, used copies of this disc start at $85.00 used on Amazon.

We also managed to check out Letters from Iwo Jima (excellent) and Smokin’ Aces (beyond terrible) this weekend. We’ll have reviews of both, time permitting.
